I am proud to be a new member of an elite critique group, 1st Thursday Art Critique Group. Not a group for the faint hearted, this is a tough, no-holds-bared group. No, no knifes or clubs, just honest comments and lots of wonderful advise. I came across this group after meeting Norbert Baird, an excellent watercolor artists, that I met through AWA. Norbert is in charge of Arizona Watercolor Association’s National watercolor show and I became the Publicity Chairperson for AWA. Well that’s where our collaboration started. I’m anxious to see where it goes.

1st Thursday is made up of 12 excellent and very different artists, each with a unique personality and style. Our meetings are held in one of the 12 members homes. July’s get together was at Beth Drathmans’ beautiful home, I brought a full sheet watercolor for critique that was dwarfed by the high ceilings. I don’t consider my self fat, though she was working at helping me with some delicious deserts and root beer floats.
